Verkhnesinyachikhinsky Local History Museum
About museum
An enormous black steam locomotive from 1953, standing right on the street, is the first exhibit that greets and sees off all visitors. The museum opened on May 9, 1984. It is housed in a two-story building containing 12 exhibitions that reflect life in the factory settlement from many perspectives. How did the factory workers work? How did they relax? What were their lives like? Visitors will certainly learn about this during the tour. The working models of the furnace shop, the metallurgical and the wood-chemical plants make an engaging accompaniment. A unique-for-the-Urals photo-theatre exhibit, "Princes Romanov — Alapaevsk Prisoners", immerses guests in the historical events of the past. In a small dimmed hall the photo-theatre "comes alive": century-old photographs pass before the viewers and a narration about the lives of the royal family is heard. Little visitors are especially delighted at the end of the tour, when they enter a real pine grove with its numerous forest inhabitants. The museum houses more than 200 taxidermied animals. The institution offers festive celebrations for Maslenitsa, New Year, Easter, Trinity (Pentecost), etc. The museum conducts informative general and themed tours, activities for children, and a variety of master classes (making toys from yarn and bast, rag dolls and other crafts). All events are accompanied by delicious tea parties!
