Petrunsky Historical and Ethnographic Museum
About museum
On January 1, 1992, the Petrunskoye historical and ethnographic museum building, constructed of wood and containing over 2,500 items, was opened. It is intended for the study and dissemination of the history of this village in its natural, social, and cultural aspects. The museum hosts scientific and educational events and collects, studies, and stores museum collections. The museum's exhibition consists of three sections. The historical section covers the history of the village from ancient times to the present day, including the genealogy of the ancient Petrunsky families, in particular the family of Ivan Nikolaevich Sorvachev, the first researcher of Inta coal. The ethnographic section describes the main occupations of the indigenous inhabitants, such as reindeer herding, fishing, hunting, and agriculture. The "Military and Labor Glory" section tells about the villagers who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War (World War II), as well as about unusual reindeer-herding detachments that fought on the Karelian Front.
