Porcelain Museum Workshop

About museum

Porcelain Museum Workshop is a structural subdivision of the State Budgetary Cultural Institution "State Museum of Artistic Culture of the Novgorod Land", which opened on March 17, 2011. The exhibition was created as part of the project "Blue Cobalt Goes to the Museum", the winner of the 7th Grant Competition "The Changing Museum in a Changing World." It features a collection of hundreds of porcelain items produced at Novgorod factories, from Ivan Kuznetsov to the most recent works. The museum offers a unique exhibition, tactile exhibits, and a combination of porcelain forms with the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff. Visitors can also take part in a tour of the kiln or in a master class on painting porcelain tableware. The museum is located on the grounds of the Desyatinnaya Monastery, and nearby is the art space "Territory of Equals", intended for work with people with disabilities and low-mobility groups, where workshops in decorative and applied arts are held.
