Museum of Military Glory of the Chuvash Republic
About museum
On May 5, 2000, the Museum of Military Glory was opened. The exhibition is located in six halls dedicated to three periods of the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945). The first hall displays a reconstructed military enlistment office (conscription point) and a partisan dugout; from here during the war 226,000 people went to the front, more than 208,000 of them were natives of Chuvashia. During the war there was a factory here where the weapons of Victory were produced, and aircraft bombs, artillery shells, mines and smoke grenades were also manufactured. The sixth hall — the Hall of the Victors — features the diorama "Storming of the Reichstag" and materials about the heroes who defeated the enemy. In this museum visitors can see the history of the Great Patriotic War and feel the glory of the victors.
