Pushkin Village Museum
About museum
Pushkin Village Museum is the only open-air museum of wooden architecture in the Pskov Region. It has been reconstructed as it was known to A. S. Pushkin: a peasant's house, an izba (log hut), a parlor, a courtyard, a barn, a pantry, a stable, a banya (bathhouse), a threshing floor, and an ovin (grain-drying shed). Here visitors can learn about the dwelling of the Pskov peasant, everyday life, crafts and trades. The museum appeals to people of all ages: children can experience Russian folk culture, schoolchildren and university students will find detailed object-based commentary on the poet's works, and adults will see history through the prism of Pushkin's poetry. The museum also stages theatrical performances illustrating Russian holidays.
