Museum 'Memorial Garage'
About museum
In 1922 a Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost was purchased in England for the government garage. It was modified at the Putilov plant in Petrograd: tracks were attached to the chassis running gear and skis were fitted to the front wheels. Thus the car was ideally suited for winter travel. V. I. Lenin used it to travel from Moscow to Gorki and for drives around the Moscow suburbs. After the scientist's death the car remained in Gorki and was hardly used, so all of its parts are still 'original'. It is the only half-track Rolls-Royce in the world.
