Museum‑Laboratory «Silk Factory»

About museum

On October 22, 2019, the modern complex “Silk Factory” was opened, occupying the historic building of the former Babayev factory on Umanskaya Street. It includes a coworking space, a museum and an exhibition hall. The museum section of the factory showcases the traditions of patterned textiles of the 18th–19th centuries. Special attention is paid to the production of high‑quality silk and kanavat shawls, which the people of Kolomna were among the first to master. The project is carried out by the “Kolomensky Posad” team, which studies, preserves and promotes Kolomna’s cultural heritage.
