About museum

In 1982, on the basis of Saratov State University, the Museum of the History of Education of the Komi Region was founded. During the first five years it was located in premises of 15 sq. m. Since then the museum's collections have been continuously expanding, and the exhibition hall space has increased. Today it is located in a two-story annex to the main building of Syktyvkar State University. The design and artistic concept was developed by designers from Saint Petersburg, Moscow and Syktyvkar. The Museum of the History of Education of the Komi Region is an educational, scientific and outreach institution; its tasks include organizing exhibitions and displays, research and outreach activities, as well as holding creative meetings, musical evenings and presentations. The head of the museum is Maya Ivanovna Burlykina.
