Nikolai Ostrovsky Museum
About museum
Nikolai Ostrovsky is a name spoken as a call to the strength and greatness of the human spirit, to faith in a better tomorrow and devotion to ideals. In Crimea the only museum dedicated to the writer was established on the initiative of K. P. Terletskaya and Raisa Porfiryevna Ostrovskaya, and implemented by Lidiya Illarionovna Lezhneva. It was opened on September 29, 1977 in the manor house. In 1987 the museum was awarded the title "People's". In 1992 the museum was moved to the premises of Youth School No. 2. The museum's exhibition will acquaint you with the writer's childhood, his fighting youth, the labor front, and his life in Kharkiv, Crimea, Novorossiysk, Moscow and Sochi. You will also see works by Nikolai Ostrovsky and "battle books" that helped the defenders of the Motherland preserve courage and steadfastness. Visitors come not only to gain knowledge, but also to learn courage, love of the Motherland, and how to live for the good of the people.
