Mosalsk Art Gallery
About museum
\n\nIn 2010 a gallery was opened in Mosalsk showcasing works by professional artists and photographers, as well as children's drawings and crafts. The Mosalsk Art Gallery is a branch of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts and regularly receives new exhibitions. Master classes, creative and art workshops, and creative meetings are held here. The gallery is located in the historic building of the merchant Ivanov, built at the end of the 19th century. This two-story gray-stone building attracts the attention of visitors and townspeople. Before the Revolution Ivanov collected paintings by famous artists, but they were lost afterward. The gallery has three exhibition halls and also houses a collection of works by Mosalsk artists. The director of the gallery, Nadezhda Borisovna Smirnova, is a well-known author of historical novels and a local historian. She finds subjects for her books in the history of the Mosalsk region.
