About museum
On November 6, 1967, the Martynovsky Museum of Military and Labor Glory was opened in the Martynovsky District; in 2008 it was renamed the Martynovsky District Local History Museum named after V. V. Karpenko. At present, the museum houses a large collection comprising 3,353 units of the main fund and 1,475 units of the research-and-auxiliary fund. The collections are constantly supplemented with items brought by local residents or relatives of those who brought fame to the Martynovsky District. The museum's permanent exhibition tells the history of the district, beginning with the large settlement Bolshaya Martynovka and the formation of the Martynovsky District up to the present day, as well as about the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War, the postwar years, and the achievements of people from the Martynovsky District in various spheres of life. Museum staff conduct themed tours, exhibitions, educational events, quests, and more.
