About museum
On April 8, 1995, the V.F. Raevsky Memorial and Cultural Complex was opened in honor of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Fedoseyevich Raevsky, a poet, publicist, and participant in the Patriotic War of 1812. The two-story building housing the complex is a regional historical monument. In 1927 the last owner of the house transferred the building to a school for peasant youth, and during the Battle of Kursk an evacuation hospital was located here. The complex includes the V.F. Raevsky Museum, the Bogoslovskaya rural model library, the House of Crafts, and the teaching classrooms of the Babrovodvorskaya Music School. The museum exhibition is displayed in five halls dedicated to the life and work of the poet. The museum building is a historical monument that invites remembrance and respect for the memory of V.F. Raevsky.
