About museum
The Museum is located in the center of the village of Livenka. It was established in the 1970s as a local history corner in the history classroom. In 2000 a decision was made to move the museum to the former Podrezov shop, an architectural monument. The exhibition consists of seven halls presenting the history of the fortress town of Livensk, the pre-revolutionary and wartime past of the village, as well as materials about famous local natives. The museum displays authentic household items, domestic utensils, clothing, tools, wartime letters and photographs, documents and personal belongings of outstanding compatriots: the writer and publicist N. S. Igrunov, the test pilot P. A. Gukov, Colonel General of Justice V. A. Chebakov, as well as materials about other notable locals and the history of the occupying Italian Division's troops, which were routed during their retreat from the village of Livenka.
