Isaac Schwartz Memorial House-Museum
About museum
Isaac Iosifovich Schwartz was a well-known resident of St. Petersburg, although he was born in Ukraine. He lived in Leningrad from 1931 to 1937 and from 1945 to 1964. In 1964 Isaac permanently moved to a suburb of Leningrad — the settlement of Siversky, where he built a house and lived in it until his death. Here he wrote many famous melodies for films and plays, such as 'White Sun of the Desert', 'The Star of Captivating Happiness', 'The Stationmaster', 'The Brothers Karamazov', 'The Straw Hat' and 'Dersu Uzala'. In 2011 the Isaac Schwartz Memorial House-Museum was opened, preserving the authentic setting and more than 5,000 exhibits. There are film and play posters, music collections and scores, the composer's orders and awards, and the famous 'iconostasis'. The museum hosts master classes, lectures, seminars, concerts and exhibitions of Russian artists. The Isaac Schwartz Museum is a place where one can get inspiration from art and music.
The Isaac Schwartz Museum is not just a museum; it is a place of inspiration for everyone who loves art and music.
