About museum
On September 17, 1973, at the initiative of the writer V.M. Shugaev, a memorial house-museum of the prominent Russian writer and researcher V.Ya. Shishkov was opened in the old simple peasant house of the long-time residents of the village of Erbogachen, the Mungalov family, where he lived in 1911. The museum displays the photo album 'Types of Tungus' and the original manuscript for it, consisting of the sections: 'Shishkov and the Evenks', 'The History of the Birth of Ugryum-Reka', 'Ethnography of the Evenks of the Katangsky District of the Irkutsk Region', 'Main Occupations and Way of Life of the Evenks', 'Hunting Trade and Hunting Tools'. It was opened on the centenary of V.Ya. Shishkov's birth.
