In 1910 an old building was constructed, which until the 1917 revolution belonged to merchant Arutyunov. In 2005 the museum was registered as a legal entity, and the total collection fund reached 20,248 thousand storage units. It features ethnographic items, numismatics, documents, photographs, applied art and technological objects. The Hall of Kuban Domestic Life has a diorama 'Settlement of the Korenovsky Kuren' and a reconstructed 'velyka' hut of a Cossack household, while the Hall of Military Glory is a historical exhibition. Museum staff monitor advanced museum practices and develop new approaches for exhibition and cultural-educational work. Currently the museum offers visitors a variety of interactive and themed events, including quizzes, quest games, master classes, online tours, lectures, surveys, contests and others.
