Korenyevsky Local History Museum
About museum
The district executive committee decided to open the Korenyevsky Local History Museum, founded on materials from the Room of Military Glory of Korenyevskaya Railway School No. 75, located in an old building that once belonged to the merchant's wife Sekerina. In 1990 the museum was given the title 'People's', and in 2004 it became a branch of the Kursk Regional Local History Museum. The museum's collections comprise more than three thousand storage units occupying an area of 143 square meters. The exhibition presents the history of the Korenyevsky region from the earliest human settlements to the present day, as well as the architectural and park-and-garden heritage of the Korenyevsky land: the noble estates of I. T. Viktorov in the village of Safonovka, A. V. Muravyev in the village of Skrylevka, and the Kitaevs in the settlement of Korenyevo. The museum is visited by residents and guests of the Korenyevsky region, who have the opportunity to learn about the lives and work of Honored Artists of the RSFSR A. M. Rudenko and V. Ya. Tretyak, writers N. I. Leverov and N. N. Pylev, and the artist S. G. Buchnev.
