Consistory Building

The Consistory Building is a monument of civil architecture dating from the mid-17th century. It housed the diocese's main administrative office, as well as the church archive and a judicial chamber. The building features exhibitions dedicated to the Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic periods, as well as the "Man and Nature" exhibition, which presents the flora and fauna of central Russia. You can also visit the dynamic exhibition "When Things Began to Speak", staged as a theatre. It consists of an auditorium and exhibition materials that move before the visitor as an organized performance. Visitors can see rare and protected species of animals that inhabit the Oka State Biosphere Reserve.
