About museum
Kolyvan Local History Museum was established in 1976 and is one of the oldest museums in Novosibirsk Oblast. It is located in the restored architectural monument of regional significance, the "House of the merchant E. A. Zhernakov" — a two-story brick building with an area of 973 sq. m. The museum features seven halls with various exhibition complexes, including works by applied-art craftsmen, professional and amateur artists. The building offers general and themed tours, as well as routes "Along the Streets of the Old Merchant Town", "Road to the Church" and "Along the Moscow–Siberian Tract — to the ancient Chatov settlement". The museum attracts about 16,000 visitors a year from different regions of Russia, as well as from other countries, in particular England, Germany, France, China, Mongolia and Japan. The museum's collection comprises more than 20,000 items.
