Klimovsk Local History Museum
About museum
The history of the Klimovsk Local History Museum began in 1999, when the head of the town decided to open a museum on the basis of the Museum of Military and Labor Glory of the Klimovsk Machine-Building Plant named after Doenin. Over ten years the museum staff created the city's historical museum, collected household items and photographs, and recorded the memories of local residents. Today the museum comprises three sections: "Unified City", local history, and the Hall of Military Glory. The first section presents the history of the emergence of industrial enterprises and the city's life today. The second presents the history of the Podolsk region and the surrounding area of Klimovsk. The third section is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War (World War II). The museum holds exhibitions, guided tours, themed lectures, and public events.
