About museum

The Rubtsovsk Art Gallery was founded in 1989 and became an important part of the city's cultural life. In 1990, after renovations, an exhibition of the artist F. A. Filonov was organized, showcasing 78 of his works. After that the artist donated all the paintings to the city, which formed the basis of the gallery's collections. In 2001 the institution was provided with a new premises, which was opened in 2002. The gallery's total area is 690 sq. m, with an exhibition area of 647.1 sq. m. The gallery has five exhibition halls and an art studio. Currently the gallery's holdings consist of 1,190 items. Exhibitions are updated every 1.5–2 months. The Rubtsovsk Art Gallery is an important place for lovers of art and culture.
