Neivo-Shaytansky Local History and Regional Museum
About museum
The Neivo-Shaytansky local history museum was established in 1960 by geography teacher Izida Nikolaevna Bugrysheva and for many years existed as a school museum. Teachers and parents of the students took an active part in creating the museum. In 1999 the museum was granted municipal status; in 2006 it became a legal entity. The museum occupies a one-story wooden building of the former school — a primary school built at the end of the 19th century. It has six exhibition halls. The museum collections are based on authentic exhibits of Russian everyday life and crafts, collected by pupils during hiking trips and donated by the settlement's residents. Many exhibits date from the late 19th to the early 20th century. The acquisition of museum items continues today as part of field and local-history research.
