Historical and Archaeological Museum in the village of Yudinovo
About museum
Yudinovo Historical and Archaeological Museum, a branch of the Bryansk State Local History Museum, consists of a local history museum, the 'Paleolithic' museum-reserve and an art gallery. All these institutions are located on the territory of the village of Yudinovo. The museum and the museum-reserve were opened on May 9, 1985, and the art gallery was opened in 2007. The local history museum includes six exhibition halls presenting the region's history from ancient times to the present day. The archaeological department acquaints visitors with finds from eight archaeological sites in the village, the oldest of which are 120,000 years old. The ethnographic exhibition features the interior of a peasant hut as well as collections in the 'Agriculture and Crafts' section. The military hall is dedicated to the villagers who defended the freedom of the Motherland, while the main theme of the postwar hall is the achievements of notable fellow villagers. The final stage of the overview of the region's history will be an exhibition of 20th-century machinery.
