Historical Museum in Tula
About museum
A branch of the Historical Museum in Tula is located in one of the most beautiful historic buildings — the mansion of the Belolipetsky merchants. The building has changed its purpose several times, from a flour-milling facility to a military hospital (lazaret) for wounded soldiers during World War I. Restoration of the Tula Arbat began in 2014, and in 2019 the mansion was transferred to the management of the branch of the State Historical Museum. The museum hosts exhibitions presenting the State Historical Museum's collection: memorial relics, decorative and applied arts, ethnographic items, archaeological artifacts, weapons, paintings, and more. A tactile exhibition is provided for visually impaired and blind visitors. On the ground floor there is a children's center where specialists from the State Historical Museum invite people to master classes, clubs, and museum programs aimed at different age groups.
