The Ilovlinsky branch of the State Budgetary Cultural Institution 'Volgograd Regional Museum of Local Lore' is located at the 75th kilometer of the Volgograd-Moscow highway, surrounded by a beautiful landscape. It was opened on May 29, 1982 and represents the estate of a middle-class Cossack from the late 19th - early 20th centuries. It contains elements of Don Cossack culture: a house (kuren), a summer kitchen, a pottery workshop, stables, and farm outbuildings. The museum's exhibition presents authentic items that help recreate the everyday life of pre-revolutionary times. The museum offers tours, lectures, collection management and storage, research, and exhibition activities. It also hosts calendar and ritual folklore celebrations, folk craftsmen festivals, and tastings of Cossack dishes and drinks.
