Kizel Local History Museum
About museum
\r\nThe museum was opened in 1957 at the initiative of a group of activists — veterans of the Party, war and labor. The museum's collections consist of materials donated by residents of the town and mining settlements. One of the museum's founders was I. P. Malkov, a veteran teacher and participant in the Great Patriotic War. The museum's holdings include materials about the discoverer of Kizel coal M. I. Yugov, about the ironworks of S. S. Abamelek-Lazarev, and personal collections of Hero of the Soviet Union G. A. Shadrin and Afghan war participant S. Usmanov. The museum has held exhibitions of works by sculptor A. G. Arapov, as well as exhibitions 'Heroes of Kizel', 'Decorated Miners' and folk art. The museum remains one of the important monuments to the history of the town of Kizel.
