\r\nOn May 8, 1999, the Gai Historical and Local Lore Museum was opened, which includes the following departments: nature of the Gai urban district, the history of the discovery of the Gai deposit, the history of the town of Gai, and the history of the Gai Mining and Processing Plant. The gallery of Florentine mosaics by Yuri Shevtsov is particularly notable, as is a panel made of ornamental and semi-precious stones produced using a rare technique. The museum hosts themed exhibitions from its own collections and from the collections of other museums, which attracts a large number of visitors.
