About museum
The Museum of Vocational and Technical Education is located in the Ivanovskoye estate, a federal historic and architectural monument in the city of Podolsk on the bank of the Pakhra River. It was opened by a decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR in 1987 to promote the system of vocational and technical education and to educate young people in labor traditions. The opening took place on December 5 with the participation of E. M. Chekharina; the restoration of the estate and the creation of the museum were made possible thanks to A. A. Dolgiy, B. A. Papirov and trainees of vocational-technical schools. On an area of 3,165.5 sq. m there are exhibitions and a collections fund of 36,223 storage units, including 19,000 items of the main collection. The museum houses unique exhibits on the history of Russia's vocational schools, as well as personal belongings and photographs of figures in vocational education, materials from educational institutions and more. The museum's exhibitions tell the story of the history of vocational education in Russia.
