Ethnographic Park-Museum of Varyogan village
About museum
The Ethnographic Park-Museum of Varyegan village is located in a picturesque corner of the Nizhnevartovsk District of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra, where it was established in 1987. The museum's main goal is the restoration and preservation of the culture of the indigenous peoples of Yugra. The collections include ethnographic items, children's toys, clothing and footwear of the Agan Khanty and forest Nenets, as well as tools. Guided tours are held on the park grounds, where visitors can learn about the architecture of the buildings, production equipment and the interior furnishings of the dwellings of the Agan Khanty and forest Nenets. The museum serves various visitor groups: local residents, tourists, and district inhabitants. A souvenir shop also operates on the museum premises. Visitors can participate in master classes where they can learn to weave bead jewelry and make items from birch bark, cloth or fur. In this way, museum visitors can get a glimpse of the life of the indigenous people and become participants for at least an hour.
