About museum

The Ethnographic Museum of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University was founded in 1815 and is one of the oldest humanities museums in the Volga–Ural region. It houses exhibits accumulated over two hundred years of the history and culture of the Americas, Australia and Oceania, Africa, Europe and Asia. The museum displays items from the 17th–19th centuries: unique in manufacturing techniques and artistic design, objects that are no longer in use, as well as those preserved only in museum collections.
