Ethnographic site 'Etarkharikurt'
About museum
The Nyagan Museum and Cultural Center invites you to visit the open-air museum 'Etarkharikurt', which translates as 'Azure Shore'. It is a stylized traditional Khanty encampment where you can take a guided tour and learn about their dwellings, arrangements, cuisine, dishes, and activities. You can also enjoy nature—the encampment is located in a forest on the riverbank. The site includes a winter earthen house, a chum (traditional tent), and household and sacred labazes (raised storage platforms). Today it is one of Nyagan's attractions, a place for relaxation and celebrations. In 2019 the 'Living Ethnography' project was launched, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in Khanty culture. Come and enjoy your visit!
