Dubrovsky District Local History Museum
About museum
In the summer of 2000, by decree of the head of the Dubrovsky District administration, V. I. Khamitsky, the Dubrovsky District Local History Museum was established. Over 19 years of existence the museum has carried out extensive work in the patriotic education of young people and in collecting the recollections of veterans of the Great Patriotic War. The museum features three exhibition halls. The first, 'Dubrovka — Origins', shows the founding of the settlement in 1868 and peasant life at the end of the 19th — beginning of the 20th century. The second hall, 'Dubrovka in the 1941–1945 War', reflects the courage and resilience of the townspeople during the Great Patriotic War. The third hall, 'You Can Be Proud of the Dubrovsky Land', presents the development of the Dubrovsky District in the postwar years and the present day. The museum's collection consists of 1,250 exhibits, which are continuously replenished thanks to local residents. Each year the museum is visited by about 5,000 people. It participates in many district and regional events, serving as a reminder of the achievements of the local people.
