P. E. Chekhov's House
About museum
In Taganrog there is the only house built by P. E. Chekhov in 1874, in which he and his family could finally settle. Although the house was small, it had everything needed: a well, a carriage house and a small garden where little Anton planted his first flowers. The house contains an exhibition "Taganrog and the Chekhovs" which allows you to understand what was happening in the Chekhov family, how they lived and why they were forced to leave their home. It was also where Anton's path to a great literary career began.
