Gagarin Family House-Museum in the village of Klushino
About museum
The Gagarin Family House-Museum was built in 1971 on the same site where the Gagarin family's house stood from 1933 to 1947. Inside the building the interior of a peasant dwelling from the Smolensk region of the 1930s is presented. In addition, on the grounds of the house-museum a dugout has been reconstructed where the Gagarin family lived during the period of the German occupation. In the yard there are farm outbuildings and a well. Visitors to the house-museum can take part in the ritual of tasting water from the Gagarins' well. This place is an important historical monument and represents an unusual and interesting tourist attraction.
