Bolshoye Boldino Local History Museum

Bolshoye Boldino Local History Museum was opened on December 14, 2012 and is part of the Bolshoye Boldino Historical and Art Museum Complex. It is located in the building of the old school in the village of Molchanovo. The museum has six halls: "Those Who Brought Fame to the Boldino Land", "Life and Everyday Customs of Past Centuries", "History of the District Through Events and People", "The District During the War Years", "Boldino Daily Life in the Mid-20th Century" and "Folk Creativity — the Soul of Russia". Since February 1, 2013 it has been open to visitors. The museum's collection comprises more than 2,000 exhibits, and about 1,500 people visit each year. The museum regularly hosts local history readings, history sessions, evening meetings, teachers' methodological associations and various exhibitions. The museum is an integral part of the cultural life of the Bolshoye Boldino district.
