M. Gafuri House-Museum
About museum
In the native village of Zilim-Karanovo there is the House-Museum of the famous native son, founder of Bashkir literature, a classic of Soviet Bashkir and Tatar literature, poet and writer Gabdelmajit Nurganievich Gafurov — Majit Gafuri. It all began with an old wooden cottage next to the brick building where the poet was born, but in the end the wood decayed and the cottage was dismantled. Nevertheless, the original name 'house-museum' remained. The museum displays photographs of Majit Gafuri with his family, his son, friends and contemporaries, as well as posters for a play staged based on the poet's works.
