Devyagorsko-Likhvinsky Historical and Landscape Museum-Reserve ("Likhvin Antiquities")
About museum
The town of Chekalin (formerly known as Likhvin) has a rich history spanning many centuries. Today the town contains numerous buildings from the late 18th–19th centuries: historic mansions, a prison fortress and the treasury building. The exhibition "Likhvin Antiquities" presents to visitors the life of Likhvin Uyezd in the 19th–early 20th centuries and allows them to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the old town through multimedia technologies and an interactive display. Here you can visit the police station, attend a lesson at the county school, listen to birdsong on the market square, "send a letter" via the old telegraph and even visit the Tula–Likhvin railway.
