Dalmatovsky Local History Museum

\r\nOn May 18, 1962, the Dalmatovsky Local History Museum was opened in the House of Pioneers. It is located in the building of a zemstvo primary school from 1912, which is of regional significance. The museum has departments of paleontology, natural history, history, a World War II department and an exhibition hall. Various exhibitions, lectures, lessons in courage, and guided tours of the museum and the Dalmatovsky Holy Dormition (Uspensky) Male Monastery are also held. Each year the museum is visited by more than 12,000 people. The museum's holdings comprise over 19,000 storage units, including paper money, coins, metal items, textiles, wood, documentary archives, and others. The museum serves as a methodological center for local history; it brings together researchers, folk craftsmen and culture bearers, and is also engaged in preserving the historical and cultural heritage of its region.
