On June 1, 2016, a new Belgorod Zoo was opened in the Sosnovka tract. The zoo's 25-hectare territory offers visitors 43 animal exhibits with spacious exhibition pavilions and heated facilities for wintering. The site includes an artificial lake for waterfowl of about two hectares. Animal habitats are organized by geographic zones: the Far East, the Russian North, Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia. The zoo also has a zone with animals native to the Belgorod region. For visitors there are car and bicycle parking, a souvenir shop, a petting/contact area, a café and picnic area, playgrounds, rides and a recreation area. Adult tickets (from 16 years) cost 300 rubles from September 16 to May 31 and 400 rubles from June 1 to September 15; children's tickets (from 5 to 16 years) cost 100 rubles, and concession categories (pensioners, people with disabilities of group 3, large families, one accompanying person of a disabled child) pay only 100 rubles.
