Apsheronsky Historical and Local History Museum
About museum
The history of the Apsheronsky Museum begins in the late 1960s, when it experienced dynamic development until the early 1990s. The collections were transferred to the district Cossack society and distributed among four halls of the former ataman administration. Only in 2003 was the museum provided with a renovated building, which helped establish the museum. Currently the museum's collection includes over 3,500 authentic exhibits of history, culture, fine art, archaeology, ethnography, military subjects, paleontology, the history of Cossack formation and settlers' everyday life, as well as the history of the region's development. Special attention is paid to the period of the Great Patriotic War, during which active hostilities took place in the region. The museum has significant development potential related to new technologies and an influx of tourists to the region.
