About museum
On December 21, 1990, the Yanshikhovo-Norvash Historical and Memorial Museum was opened in the building of the former two-grade school, which had been built with the active participation of the Chuvash educator I. Ya. Yakovlev. It was awarded the title "People's Museum" by the Decree of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR on May 29, 1991. The museum houses more than 6,000 exhibits, including documents on the village's origins, remains of ancient animals, tools, national clothing and embroidery, paintings and sculptures by well-known artists and sculptors, as well as priceless items such as an oak table, a student's slate, a bookcase and a shelving unit. Search parties from the Moscow and Kaluga regions donated military exhibits to the museum. A visit to this museum is of great interest to visitors.
