Yayva Local History Museum
About museum
In 1974 a museum was established in the settlement of Yayva. It was originally the museum of the Verkh-Yayvinsky forestry enterprise and later became a local history museum. The museum's main tasks are collecting and studying the history of the settlement and the region as a whole, as well as preserving and promoting these histories. The museum has three halls with permanent exhibitions and an exhibition hall for temporary displays. The collections include household and ethnographic items, artifacts relating to the history of technology, visual sources, documents, photographs, rare books, and taxidermy of animals and birds. In November 2018 the museum was incorporated into the F. F. Pavlenkov Library and became part of the Library and Museum Center of the Yayva urban settlement. In 2020 a participatory budgeting project was implemented to improve the museum grounds and the monument to those who died during the Great Patriotic War.
