The exhibition transported visitors to the 17th–18th centuries. At that time, the Russian emperor Peter I showed particular interest in the mysterious finds from Kostenki. By his order, Filimon Katasanov, a soldier of the Preobrazhensky Regiment, began the first scientific investigations in this enigmatic area.
Thanks to 12 lubok paintings, which vividly illustrated the searches and discoveries, visitors were able to experience every moment of the historical journey. The narrative, written in the style of a folk tale, conveyed the unique atmosphere of that era.
Next, the exhibition 'A Tale of How Tsar Peter Studied Kostenki' will open on November 25 at the Pavlovsky District Local History Museum.
