"Rus' didn't begin yesterday — Rus' began with an axe." The hut is named in honor of its last resident, Ekaterina Timofeevna Kalinina.
At the end of the 19th century she married the third son of the Kalinins and became the eighteenth member of the family. Some see this as peasant poverty; others — as the highest culture of relationships, tolerance and mutual respect.

The hut was built at the end of the 17th century, hewn with a single axe, without saws or planes.
The interior has been preserved in its original state: wide split benches, a ceiling of whole logs, a floor of wide planks, a clay-packed oven, polati (raised sleeping platforms), matitsa (traditional household fixture), and the red corner (icon corner).
Red corner: "To the honored guest — the honored place"
And finally, for you, a short vignette: "Ways of Tea Drinking"
