Exhibition "To Nerekhta by Time Machine"
About exhibition
In the building of the "Bryukhanov Hospital Ensemble" — a unique Art Nouveau monument (early 20th century) — the exhibitions "The Rich Land of Crafts" (18th–20th centuries), "Prominent Merchant Houses of Nerekhta" (19th–20th centuries) and "For the Glory of the Fatherland" (industrialists, entrepreneurs, philanthropists of the Nerekhta region (19th – early 20th century)) are presented. Here you will learn about Nerekhta's merchant dynasties, who built houses and factories, erected stone churches and shaped the town. You will see personal items belonging to notable families and get acquainted with the history of the flax industry in the Nerekhta area, from the handloom to factory production. You will visit a factory owner's study with a fireplace, a ward of the factory hospital and a classroom of the factory school. Nerekhta is an old merchant town with a rich history and vivid character preserved in unique objects, photographs, furniture and items of traditional crafts and trades. Simply being surrounded by these images and artifacts is enough to transport you into the historical past. Organizer phone: +7 (49431) 7-52-60.
