Exhibition 'SMO: Stories, Heroes and Feats'

The exhibition was created in fulfillment of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin's instruction of 2 February 2023 to establish museums dedicated to the special military operation and the feats of its heroes. All 163 exhibits in the new display were donated by concerned residents of Iskitim. They include pieces of military equipment, awards, personal belongings, photographs and biographical notes of fallen fighters that had been carefully preserved by their families. Each of these individuals is an example of courage, and they have entered the history not only of Iskitim and the Iskitim district, but of Russia as a whole. Contemporary and future generations must not forget their heroes who defended the country in such difficult times. One section of the exhibition is devoted to the Iskitim volunteer movement 'Zhuravlik'. The initiator and organizer of the movement is Yana Igorevna Titkova, who, by her personal example, inspired and brought together more than a thousand compassionate and selfless people. After a year of active work the Iskitim volunteer movement grew into a full-scale operation.
