Exhibition 'Transfigured Nature'
About exhibition
The exhibition 'Transfigured Nature' from the collection of the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg) is the result of long-term fruitful cooperation with one of Russia's leading museums. The project will be an anniversary — the tenth joint one. The exhibition includes 55 paintings by artists of the late 19th–early 20th centuries, including works by such renowned masters as Arkhip Kuindzhi, Ivan Shishkin, Ivan Aivazovsky, Vladimir Makovsky, Yuly Klever, Grigory Myasoedov, as well as rarely exhibited paintings by other outstanding landscapists. The new project showcases a special genre of Russian landscape painting — the dramatic, eventful landscape. It is filled with vivid natural phenomena: thunderstorms, fiery-red sunsets, foaming cascades and restless seas, mysterious moonlight — all that evokes delight and unforgettable emotions in the viewer. The exhibition program includes thematic tours and interactive activities, creative workshops, lectures and meetings.
