Exhibition 'Transfigured Nature'
About exhibition
The exhibition 'Transfigured Nature' from the collection of the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg) is the result of long-standing fruitful cooperation with one of Russia's leading museums. This project will be a jubilee—the tenth joint exhibition. The exhibition comprises 55 paintings by artists of the late 19th–early 20th centuries, including works by such well-known masters as Arkhip Kuindzhi, Ivan Shishkin, Ivan Aivazovsky, Vladimir Makovsky, Yuly Klever, Grigory Myasoedov, as well as rarely exhibited works by other outstanding landscape painters. The new project presents a distinctive genre of the Russian landscape—the dramatic, event-driven landscape. It is filled with vivid natural phenomena: thunderstorms, fiery-red sunsets, foaming torrents of waterfalls and restless seas, mysterious moonlight—everything that evokes admiration and unforgettable emotions in the viewer. The exhibition program includes themed tours and interactive sessions, creative master classes, lectures, and meetings.
