The exhibition presents the history of the region and the history of the city. It features not only archaeological and ethnographic collections that characterize the everyday life, occupations and customs of the Pelym Mansi, but also materials that closely reflect the development of the city of Yugorsk: personal belongings, photographs and documents of the city's residents, and work and household items from the 1960s–1990s. The history of Yugorsk uniquely reflects the key events of the modern era in Western Siberia — the exploitation of forest and mineral resources, the construction of railway lines, and the birth of new modern towns amid the taiga and swamps.
