Exhibition 'The History of the Castle in the Museum Collection'
About exhibition
The history of the palace-castle 'Swallow's Nest' is mysterious: accounts are fragmentary and contradictory, and almost no documentary evidence has survived. Visitors can immerse themselves in the story of the enigmatic castle and trace the chronology of events and the transformations of this marvel of Neo-Gothic architectural form, which literally overhangs the sea. The astonishing miniature building on Aurora Rock, named after the goddess of the dawn, has attracted people for a century for mysterious, unexplained reasons. The castle acquired its present appearance thanks to the German oil industrialist Baron P. L. Shteingel, who enjoyed vacationing in Crimea. All of this can be seen on outdoor postcards.
